What is Water Baptism?
Water baptism is a public celebration of a personal decision—your decision to follow Jesus. It’s an outward expression of an inward transformation. When you’re baptized, you are declaring that the old life is gone and the new life has begun (2 Corinthians 5:17). It symbolizes being buried with Christ and raised to life in Him.
But even more than a symbol, it’s a step of obedience. Jesus Himself was baptized, and He called His followers to do the same (Matthew 28:19). Whether you've been following Jesus for years or just made that decision, baptism is a powerful next step in your faith journey.

Do I Need to Be Baptized to Be Saved?
No—salvation comes through faith in Jesus Christ alone (Ephesians 2:8-9). Baptism doesn’t save you, but it’s a vital next step after salvation. Think of it like a wedding ring: it doesn’t make you married, but it’s a public symbol of a commitment you’ve already made.
Baptism is your opportunity to say, “I belong to Jesus.” It’s an act of obedience that follows your decision to trust Him—not a requirement for salvation, but a powerful response to it.

Am I Ready to Be Baptized?
If you’ve made the decision to follow Jesus, then yes—you’re ready! Baptism doesn’t require perfection or a spotless track record. It simply requires a willing heart and a step of obedience. It’s not about having it all figured out—it’s about saying yes to Jesus and going public with your faith.
What If I’ve Been Baptized Before?
You only need to be baptized once—but there are valid reasons someone might feel led to be baptized again:
- You walked away from your faith and have recently recommitted your life to Jesus.
- You sense the Holy Spirit prompting you to take this step again as a public declaration of a renewed faith.
- You were baptized before but didn’t fully understand the meaning, or it felt like a religious ritual instead of a personal decision.
I Was Christened as a Baby. Is That the Same?
Christening or infant baptism is often a decision made by parents to dedicate a child to God—which is meaningful and honorable. But biblical water baptism is a personal choice made after deciding to follow Jesus. It’s an intentional act of obedience that reflects your faith and decision to live for Him. If you were christened as a baby, being baptized now is not dishonoring your past—it’s completing your journey of faith with a step that’s personal and powerful.
But I Don’t Have a Dramatic Testimony…
We hear this a lot—and here’s the truth: you don’t need a dramatic story to have a powerful testimony. Choosing to follow Jesus is always worth celebrating. Maybe your life wasn’t falling apart, but you still chose to trust Him—that’s obedience, and it’s beautiful. Your story matters because it's yours, and your obedience is what makes baptism significant.
What If I Don’t Want to Be on Camera?
We love to celebrate baptisms during our services, and many are recorded or streamed online—but we understand that not everyone is comfortable with that. If you'd prefer a more private moment, that’s okay. We can schedule your baptism and invite your friends or family to be there and celebrate with you. Baptism is about your obedience to Jesus, not being in front of a crowd—so we’ll honor that every time.
