Our Beliefs

What We Believe

At Grace City Church, we are built on the foundation of God’s Word, God’s presence, and God’s power. Our beliefs shape everything we do—from how we worship to how we serve our community. We are passionate about leading people into a life-changing relationship with Jesus, rooted in biblical truth, authentic community, and the transforming power of the Holy Spirit.
God
We believe in one eternal, all-powerful, all-knowing God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—by whom all things were created. He is ever-present, unchanging, perfect, and completely worthy of our trust. Above all, He is holy. God is completely good, loving, compassionate, and faithful to His people and His promises. He rules over all creation with justice and mercy, and He invites us into a life-changing relationship with Him.

(Genesis 1:1; Deuteronomy 32:39; 1 Samuel 2:2; Isaiah 44:8; Luke 18:19; 1 Corinthians 8:6)
The Bible
The Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. Written by human authors under the divine guidance of the Holy Spirit, it is the ultimate standard for truth, faith, and godly living. As God’s revealed Word, it speaks with final authority on all matters of belief, morality, and conduct. We do not conform Scripture to culture; instead, Scripture shapes how we live, think, and follow Jesus.

(2 Timothy 3:16-17; Psalm 119:105; Hebrews 4:12; Matthew 4:4)
Jesus
Jesus Christ is the Son of God, fully God and fully man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin. He lived a sinless life, died unjustly, and rose again to conquer sin and death, providing a way for man to be eternally reconciled to God. Through His death and resurrection, we have access to freedom, victory, and eternal life. He ascended to heaven and will return again to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

(Matthew 1:18-23; John 1:1-5; Romans 6:9-10; Luke 24:46-47; Acts 1:9-11; Revelation 1:7; Colossians 1:19-20)
The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is fully God, equal with the Father and the Son. He is not just a force, but the very presence of God with us and in us. He convicts, comforts, empowers, and guides us into truth. The Holy Spirit produces fruit in the life of a believer and strengthens us to walk in holiness, boldness, and spiritual authority.

(Genesis 1:2; John 14:16-17; John 16:7-15; Romans 8:11; Galatians 5:16-25; 1 Corinthians 2:12-14; 1 Corinthians 6:19-20; 2 Corinthians 3:17; Ephesians 1:13-14; Ephesians 3:16; 2 Timothy 1:7; Titus 3:5)
Humanity
Humanity is created in the image of God and is the supreme object of His creation. We were designed for fellowship with God but became separated through sin. Redemption is found only through Jesus Christ. Every person, from conception to natural death, possesses dignity and immeasurable worth. Our identity is not found in gender, sexuality, race, or status, but in being sons and daughters of God. As followers of Jesus, we are called to defend, protect, and value all human life with respect and love.

 (Genesis 1:26-31; Romans 5:12-21; Jeremiah 1:5; Ephesians 2:1-3; Matthew 25:40; Psalm 127:3; Psalm 139:13-16; Proverbs 31:8-9)
Salvation
Salvation is God’s free gift to you if you accept it. This gift was given to everyone through the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We can never make up for our sin with self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can you be saved from sin’s penalty. Eternal life begins the moment you receive Jesus Christ into your life by faith.

(John 14:6; Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 6:23; Romans 10:9-10)
Eternity
We believe that people were created to exist forever – either in communion with God through forgiveness and salvation, which is only found in Jesus, or eternally separated from God by sin. God honors each person’s choice for separation or communion.

(John 3:16; John 10:28-29; Romans 8:38-39; Philippians 1:6; Deuteronomy 30:19-20; Matthew 25:46; Revelation 21:1-4)
The Church, It's Mission and Ministry
The Church is the representative of Jesus on earth, called to carry out the Great Commission and demonstrate the power of His name. We are a movement of imperfect people who have encountered Jesus and are carrying His presence into the world. We are called to love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength, and to love others as ourselves (Matthew 22:37-39). In His name, we are empowered to cast out demons, heal the sick, and push back darkness, advancing the light of God’s kingdom.
God has appointed men and women as ministers, to lead the Church through the fivefold ministry gifts—apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers—given to equip and build up the Body of Christ. Leadership in the Church carries a sacred responsibility, and those called to ministry will one day answer to God for their stewardship. Spiritual leaders are held to a higher standard, called to lead with integrity, humility, and the fear of the Lord.

(Matthew 16:18; Acts 2:42-47; Ephesians 2:19-22; Ephesians 4:11-12; 2 Timothy 4:2; Acts 20:28; James 3:1)
